Reflecting on her early days, she shares, “When I first encountered the harsh realities faced by street children, I was apprehensive. But witnessing their genuine struggles, I quickly realized the urgent need for intervention. Tumaini Kwa Watoto offered me the chance to be part of the solution, focusing on restoring one child at a time to a secure family environment.”
“Nonetheless most of them had and still have genuine cases that needed to be listened to. I had to be part of the solution. Tumaini Kwa Watoto gave me this opportunity as a ray of hope which means focusing on one child at a time, restoring them into a secure family. I have also grown to know myself; discovering this huge heart that wants the best for others. I live to serve, and this brings me great fulfillment.”
Years later, it is still invigorating. It is my motivation every day.
Mary is a registered Counseling Psychologist and Social Worker with over 15 years of extensive experience. Her expertise spans child protection, welfare, mental health, partnership development, networking, and community development. Her comprehensive background includes crucial work in advocacy, case management, psychosocial support, and program development for vulnerable children, families, and communities. This profound experience has not only allowed her to serve others but also ignited a deep personal discovery of her own compassionate heart, a flame that continues to fuel her unwavering motivation today.
