HOPE in Inspiring and Guiding Students towards Success
We are thrilled to share some remarkable news of the profound impact through our school empowerment programs.
Last month, October 2024, we went to different communities to visit several schools that we have previously returned children from the streets. We spoke to upper primary at Mukuria Primary School, Milimaini Primary School, Power Line Primary School and Muvanduli Primary School. Most of these pupils were preparing to do their end year exams. For them, their grades will determine not only their ability to progress to next level but also which schools they can attend and, more importantly, whether their families can afford the fees.
The pupils could communicate in English and Swahili languages making our interaction effective. It was very educational sessions, with a bubbling atmosphere full of hilarity especially when we talked about adolescents and relationships. The curiosity was real in these young people who have ambitions in life. We encouraged them to embrace attending school, being diligent, assertive, goal-driven, and prepare to become future leaders. We informed and challenged them to help themselves and their community.
We also visited St. Teresa Secondary School and had a session with girls who were passing through many challenges. The aim of the mentorship session is to empower students by providing guidance and counselling. Through interactive sessions, we focused on developing essential skills, boosting confidence, how to maximise their hard work in their academics and inspiring students to pursue their dreams. This initiative is part of our commitment to nurturing future leaders, fighting poverty and restoring families through education empowerment.
In one of the schools, we supported them financially to purchase a new water tank that would allow the children to enjoy clean drinking water and for other uses.
Our mentorship program not only benefits students but also strengthens our ties with the community. By collaborating with local schools where our children are, we create a supportive network that fosters growth and development for all involved.
Impact from recent School visits
- Over 400 students and pupils participated in the mentorship sessions.
- Feedback showed a 90% satisfaction rate among students.
- We provided uniforms, stationeries and paid part of the school fees for some of the needy students.
Future Plans and Partnerships
With partnership, we aim to reach more schools and students in the coming months. We plan to expand the program by increasing the number of children in need of education empowerment, introducing new topics and activities to our program.
Your generosity and ongoing financial support has helped us bridge the gaps for many children.
Thank you for partnering with us… We invite more partnerships to increase our impact.
Together, inspiring and guiding young leaders of tomorrow…
“Education is a privilege, and with such privilege comes the responsibility to empower others, creating a ripple effect.”
