Dave's Journey: From Financial Hurdle to Graduation
For Dave, 24 years old, future seemed impossible. Growing up in Kenya’s eastern region, his mother was unemployed, and the family struggled to meet basic needs. After completing primary school, his dream of joining secondary school felt unattainable. However, upon meeting his mother in Nairobi and assessing their critical situation, we stepped in to sponsor his secondary education.
Dave excelled in high school, scoring a high B+ on his final exams. Though our initial sponsorship concluded after secondary school, Dave’s ambition did not fade. Driven by his success, he secured admission to the Co-operative University of Kenya in September 2021 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Huge congratulations to Dave on his academic success!
We are proud to celebrate Dave’s academic success! The financial hurdles of university fees and accommodation were daunting, but thanks to perseverance and the ongoing support, he overcame them. Dave is now set to graduate this December, embracing his potential, he looks forward to a future filled with hope!
Roba's Path: From Bus Stop Rescue to Four-Star Hotel
At 23 years, Roba’s journey highlights the direct impact of our work. Unable to afford high school despite his mother’s hard work, his life changed at 14 years when Tumaini Kwa Watoto team found him at a Nairobi bus stop. Following his rescue and family situation assessment, we sponsored his full high school education. After his 2022 final secondary exams, Roba joined college where acquired practical skills at a Technical Institute. His commitment was evident: he secured a job during his hotel internship and Roba’s perseverance continues to drive his success!
